After several weeks of practices to get ready, it was the offense that shined during Kentucky’s first football scrimmage of spring practices on Saturday. Running backs Jojo Kemp and Stanley “Boom” Williams busted multiple long rushes, and with Patrick Towles and Drew Barker splitting snaps, the UK offense scored or reached field goal range on its first four possessions. The Associated Press and National Association of Basketball Coaches both named Kentucky’s Willie-Cauley Stein a First Team All-American and added freshman Karl-Anthony Towns to the Second Team. With the honor, Cauley-Stein becomes UK’s 25th consensus First Team All-American, tied with Purdue and North Carolina for the second most all-time. Kansas has the most with 28. Anthony Davis was the Wildcats’ last consensus First Team All-America selection, receiving the honor in 2012. The junior forward has been one of the leading contributor... Read more
